How logo placement works

Adding a logo covers part of the QR code's center. To compensate, this tool automatically switches error correction to High (the level that tolerates the most obstruction) and constrains the logo to roughly 15–20% of the code's total width with a clear background behind it, so scanners can still read the surrounding pattern. Putting a photo or picture in the middle

This isn't limited to a company logo: a QR code with an image in the middle works the same way whether that image is a headshot, a product photo, an icon, or a logo mark. Upload it under "Customize appearance" and it drops into the same safe zone. Two things keep it scannable:

  • Error correction is set to H (High) automatically whenever an image is present, the level built to tolerate the most obstruction.
  • The image is capped at roughly 30% of the QR code's width, large enough to recognize, small enough that the surrounding pattern still carries enough data to scan.

Go past that size and even High error correction can't compensate, so this tool won't let the image cover more than that share of the code.
